We crawled 1,056 SaaS marketing sites in July 2026 and ran every JSON-LD block on the 985 reachable homepages through the same validation engine that powers our free JSON-LD validator. This page is the result. Every number is free to cite with attribution.

The gap between 53.9% JSON-LD adoption and 11.3% rating adoption is the practical takeaway. Most of your competitors have already done the hard part (getting structured data into their build pipeline) and then stopped one step short of the markup that actually changes how their brand looks in search results. Adding a valid SoftwareApplication entity with an AggregateRating is a small increment on top of existing JSON-LD, and 88.7% of the market has not taken it.
The quality numbers cut the other way: shipping markup is not the same as shipping markup that works. If 17.1% of deployments carry hard errors, checking your own pages takes minutes with our free validator and can be the difference between earning a rich result and silently losing it. For ratings specifically, Google also requires that the reviews behind the numbers be real and collected from users, which is the problem TheWebRatings exists to solve.
We assembled 1,056 SaaS marketing domains from two sources: 716 from the TheWebRatings app catalog and 340 curated well-known SaaS products across categories (project management, developer tools, marketing, sales, finance, support, and others). On 2026-07-22 we fetched each site's homepage over HTTPS with an identifying user agent (TWRResearchBot), following redirects, with one www retry. 985 homepages returned usable HTML.
From each page we extracted every application/ld+json block and parsed it. Types were counted once per site after flattening @graph structures and nested entities. Validation used the engine behind our public JSON-LD validator, which checks required and recommended properties against rules aligned with Google's rich result documentation. Errors are missing required properties or malformed values; warnings are missing recommended properties. Microdata and RDFa were detected by marker attributes only and were not validated.
