What is TitleBridge?

TitleBridge is an open-source workflow tool for Final Cut Pro that streamlines the process of converting captions into editable titles. Rather than requiring users to export captions, use external websites, and re-import files, TitleBridge keeps the entire workflow within Final Cut Pro, eliminating the need for third-party services or subscriptions. The tool is designed for video editors working with short-form content who want to add caption-based titles without leaving their editing environment. Users can leverage Final Cut Pro's built-in transcription feature to generate captions from audio, then convert those captions directly into titles using a selection of Final Cut's native title templates. TitleBridge works on both Apple Silicon and Intel-based Macs, though Apple Silicon is recommended for optimal performance with Final Cut's transcription capabilities. Currently, transcription functions only support English. For users without Apple Silicon or needing other languages, captions can be manually entered or sourced from third-party tools. The tool offers version 1.1 and beyond with support for multiple built-in Final Cut title styles, allowing editors to customize the appearance of their caption-based titles. As an open-source project, TitleBridge collects no user data and maintains privacy by design.
