What is Mathpad?

Mathpad is a physical keypad designed to simplify mathematical notation entry across digital platforms. It addresses a common workflow friction point: typing complex equations in code editors, email clients, messaging applications, and other text environments where mathematical symbols are typically difficult to input. The device features dedicated keys for Greek letters, calculus symbols, and other mathematical notation, enabling direct typing of equations rather than relying on workarounds like LaTeX syntax or Unicode character insertion. This makes it particularly useful for engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and software developers who frequently work with mathematical expressions. Mathpad is open source and available through Crowd Supply, with units currently in stock and shipping within three business days.
